Hm. I carve my own stamps too... but sometimes my birds look a bit fucked up. I might take a peek around your blog and see if I can get some pointers.
ReplyDeleteAh. I'm happy you posted on WOYWW... I don't visit many people from WOYWW because I am a lazy jerk, but I will probably follow your blog.
Yep.
Regards,
A
haha amy im sure they dont look that bad, i just draw on lino with a shaarpie then try and cut as close to the line as i can, sometimes a funny lookin bird is nicer than a perfect one, whats that thing they say about home cooking...something like it may be wonky but is much better. make your birds your own :P thanks for visiting my page btw, il take alook at yours too :)i dont ofetn get time to blog much since my corse is full time, this WOYWW is getting me more motivated to make things though since more people are liking my stuff :)
ReplyDeletehave a good WOYWW

Great looking stamps, very impressive to carve your own.
ReplyDeleteThe stamps are great! Worked with lino years ago, might need to pick up that again, easier than making stamps of leftover rubber, he he.

ReplyDeleteI totally get why you might wanna try the laser cutting - but I think your designs lend themselves to the hand carved look - go on prove me wrong, after all, what do I know! ANd OMGee - isn't your desk tidy!!
ReplyDeletethanks everyone, il keep making my stamps and il also make a tutorial type video of my method of making them for anyone that wants to give it a go :)thanks for the robot comments too, i love robots! :D my 'tidy' desk aswell, like to keep it tidy so that i dont have to work around mess, isnt hard to clean just sweep it of the side into the bins :) hope you all had a great woyww and shall look forward to the next one :) toodle pip x
ReplyDeletehow interesting! what material are you carving?
ReplyDeleteI really like the hand cut stamps. It gives them a certain handmade quality (grin). But laser cuts would sure make them seem very professional. So glad you joined again this week. And like last week, I'm still running behind. Will try to do better this week.
ReplyDeleteCool work, matey!
ReplyDeleteCool stamps! Great blog, I'm following you x (One day I'll somehow make that sound non stalker ish when I type it in peoples comments lol)
ReplyDeletecool, still getting comments :D i carve them from linolium, but i may switch to another stamp carving medium called speedy carve which is much softer and comes in thicker sheets :)i do agree hand cut stamps look better :) i like the odd little marks around the stamp :) i probably wont try lasercutting, i just need smaller cutting tools, hand carved for the win :D thanks morti and thanks for following becky :) il follow you too :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat stamps - particularly love the Vespa and the steaming cup. You must have a good steady hand for those. And I so want the alarmed robot...
